✈Units and definitions of X
☂pressure (psi),:-Pressure is defined as the physical force exerted on an object. The force applied is perpendicular to the surface of objects per unit area.
☂specific gravity (unitless) -Specific gravity is a ratio of the density of some material (usually a liquid) compared to the density of water. The SG of Jet A (or gasoline) would be less than 1.0, since these fuels are lighter than water. Density is a little more relevant for the pilot in routine flight operations.

✈Advantage of fly by wire?
Ans.
☂ Pilot workload reduction
☂The fly-by-wire system provides a more usable interface and
takes over some computations that previously would have to be
carried out by the pilots.
☂ Airframe safety
☂ By mediating the control commands, the system can ensure that the pilot cannot put the aircraft into a state that stresses the
airframe or stalls the aircraft.

pumps, and on ground how will you energize the green system from yellow?
Ans: We have 3 systems Green, Yellow and Blue.
☂Green is pressurized by 2 ways
1. ENG 1 EDP (engine driven pump)
2. PTU (power transfer unit)
☂Yellow is pressurized by 4 ways
1. ENG2 EDP
2. PTU
3. Hand Pump
4. 4. Electric Pump

☂Blue is pressurized by 2 ways
1. Electric Pump
2. RAT.
☂HYDRAULIC POWER for Boeing
The three hydraulic systems operate independently at 3000 psi nominal pressure. The three systems are system A, system B, and
the standby system. Each system has a reservoir, pumps, and filters.
The hydraulic fluid is fire resistant
☂SYSTEM A
System A uses one engine-driven pump (EDP) and one electric motor driven pump (EMDP). The system supplies hydraulic power to
these systems:
• Flight controls
• Landing gear
• Nose gear steering
• Alternate brakes
• Flight and ground spoilers
• Left thrust reverser
• Tail skid
• Power transfer unit (PTU).
Note check here for more about B737-800 hydraulic system
Note check here for more about A320 hydraulic system
☂SYSTEM B
System B uses one EDP and one EMDP. System B supplies hydraulic power to these systems:
• Flight controls
• Normal brakes
• Trailing edge flaps
• Leading edge flaps and slats
• Right thrust reverser
• Flight spoilers
• Alternate nose gear steering
• Alternate gear retraction.
Regulated air from the environmental control system pressurizes system A and system B reservoirs. The air gives a positive supply
of hydraulic fluid to each pump. The standby system reservoir gets pressure from fluid in the system B reservoir.
☂STANDBY SYSTEM
The standby system, which has a separate electric motor-driven pump, is an auxiliary source of hydraulic power. To operate the standby
system, move either of the FLT CONTROL switches to STBY RUD or the ALTERNATE FLAPS switch to ARM. The switches are on the
overhead panel. The standby system also operates automatically.
Standby hydraulic power supplies pressure to these systems:
• Rudder control system
• Either or both thrust reversers
• Leading edge flaps and slats (full extend only) in the alternate flap mode.
For normal operation, system A and system B are on and the standby system is off.
✈Re- fueling precautions*
☂AME supervising the Re-fuelling must ensure the following in addition to the precautions &procedure
1) The Refuelling vehicle entry & Exit Path is clear & unobstructed.
2) All the Hoses and Cables are properly secured at correct location before the Refuelling
starts.
3) Double check the Fuel on-board required before instructing the Refuelling Personnel to
stop Refuelling.
4) After completion of the Refuelling, ensure all hoses and cable have been disconnected
from the Aircraft and properly secured onto the Refuelling equipment/ Vehicle.
5) Fuel cap is secured positively to the fuelling receptacle.
6) Sign off the Fuel Receipt AV-7 Form for refuelling completion.
NOTE : this receipt to be signed only when all the Refuelling hoses and cables have
been removed and secured onto the Refuelling vehicle.
✈Why do we measure fuel quantity in KGS not in LTRS?
Ans: Because KGS is weight i.e. pull of gravity which is not affected by temperature. Whereas LTRS is volume which varies with temperature change.
https://youtu.be/9GY11rXnamQ
✈Definitions of following laws: -
☂Boyles’ law states pressure is inversely proportional to volume at constant temp.
☂Charles’ law states that volume is directly proportional to temperature at constant
pressure
☂Pascal’s law: states that force applied on incompressible fluid will be transferred in
any direction without loss of energy,
☂Hooke’s law: is law of proportionality between stress and strain,
☂Newton’s laws:
1.body in rest tends to remain in rast or body in motion tends to remain in motion
unless external force in not applied
2.unbalance force applied on body gives acceleration in direction of force, than that
acceleration is directly proportional to force and indirectly proportional to mass
3. every action has equal and opposite reaction,
☂Bernoulli’s principle: fluid passed through a ventury velocity increases and temp and
pressure decreases and total energy remains constant.
✈Angle of Attack, aspect ratio, Angle of Incidence?
☂AOA: angle between relative wind and cord
☂Aspect ratio: span by cord ratio
Angle of incidence: angle between cord and longitudinal axis.

https://youtu.be/rq_AWWjcYyQ ✈What is ram air turbine (RAT) and its functions?
Ans:
☂ RAT or Ram Air Turbine is a small unit having to small aerofoil shaped blade installed in it.
When it is deployed to the incoming airstream, the blades rotate at high speed providing emergency drive for the blue hydraulic system
pressure pump.
☂ blue hydraulic system is
pressurized and supply minimum amount of system pressure for the most basic systems.
Also, the blue hydraulic pressure rotate the motor part of the CSM/G. The motor shaft is in turn connected to the AC generator part of the
CSM/G and thus provide the aircraft ☂*the emergency electrical supply of *115 V 400 Hz AC supply* of *5 kVA rating*

b. Failure of both AC bus 1 and 2.
c. Aircraft speed is above 100 knots.
✈How do you open nose & main landing gear door on ground?
Ans: By pulling the handle behind it. It will be opened by gravity.
For closing switch on yellow hyd. Elec pomp it will then pressurize green system via PTU. Lift the handle insert the locking pin and check the indication on ECAM page.

✈basic air conditioning system and components order wise ?*
Ans:-
☂ Pre conditioned air enters the primary heat exchanger where it is cooled by ram air.
☂Then it goes to compressor where the pressure and Temperature increase then it goes main
heat exchanger for cooling by ram air then it goes to turbine where the energy is extracted to rotate the compressor and due to expansions air cools.
☂Then in goes to water
separator and then to the mixture and distribution unit.
☂There are 2 PACKS (pneumatic air conditioning kit). Air cond controlled by 2 computer .
⛑ACSC1 AND ACSC2 (airconditioning system controller). And
⛑pressure is controlled by CPC1 AND CPC2 (cabin press. controller).
⛑1 outflow valve and
⛑2 safety valves.
✈Tell me about IDG & its functions?
☂IDG or Integrated Drive Generator is an AC generator integrated with a Constant Speed Drive(CSD). ☂The CSD is driven by the Accessory Gear Box(AGB) which is in turn driven by the engine. Since engine speed varies with operation, ☂the input to the CSD also varies. But, irrespective of variation in CSD input rpm,
☂the output of the CSD remains always constant which is delivered to the generator. Thus the generator is rotated at a constant rpm and thus produces constant frequency of 400 Hz of the AC it produces.
☂The IDG has its *own oil supply* and hence is independent of engine oil system.
☂It is a Line Replaceable Unit.
✈Why NITROGEN is used in tyres ?Ans:
☂higher operating temp. ,
☂inert gas,
☂prevents fire hazard and corrosion.
